Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth (OPACY)

The Office of the Provincial Advocate provides an independent voice for children and youth, including children with special needs and First Nations children. The advocates will respond to concerns you may have about the service you are receiving. The Office has a strong commitment to youth involvement.

Free Income tax Clinics

The Lakehead Social Planning Council administers a volunteer income tax clinic on behalf of the Canada Revenue Agency. Returns are completed using UFile software and are e-filed during income tax season (Mar 1, 2014-Apr 30, 2014). The program accepts income tax year-round and is able to complete multiple years. All income tax returns are completed on a first come, first served basis.
